Ribeira do Carvoeiro has some places of rare beauty along its course. One of them is Cabril's Black Pit, in Vale da Mua, which consists of a geological flaw where you can see a small waterfall that flows into a lagoon.
In the summer it is possible for some visitors to jump from the top of the rock into the water.
Due to the characteristics of the place there is a climbing sector called psycobloc, it consists of four routes whose difficulty varies between degrees V and 6c. All the routes have the same access and starting point, at the bottom next to the water, ending at the top of the rock.
This sector's name derives from a climbing modality with some special characteristics, safety is not done with ropes, falls are cushioned by the climber's fall into the water.
Besides the mentioned activities, the area is also favorable to good walks, taking advantage of the clean air and surrounding landscapes.
The access is made through a dirt track of about 500 meters, the floor is in good conditions and without great unevenness and it can be done by most lightweight vehicles.
After parking it is necessary to walk about 200 metres.
