ARM – Associação Rotas de Mação Awarded Public Utility Status
The ARM – Associação Rotas de Mação is honoured to inform its members, partners, collaborating organisations and the wider community that it has been granted Public Utility Status through Order No. 11998/2026, published in the Portuguese Official Gazette (Diário da República).
This distinction represents an important recognition of the work carried out by the Association since its foundation in December 2020 in the fields of environmental protection, natural heritage, quality of life, sport, sustainable tourism and local development.
In the Order now published, the Portuguese State acknowledges the Association’s role in pursuing objectives of general public interest and highlights its cooperation with several public entities, namely the Municipality of Mação, the parish councils of the municipality, the National Republican Guard (GNR), the Polytechnic University of Tomar, the Verde Horizonte School Group, the Mação Volunteer Fire Brigade, and the Médio Tejo Intermunicipal Community.
This achievement is the result of the dedication and commitment of many individuals and institutions that, over the years, believed in and contributed to the growth of the Rotas de Mação project. The Board of Directors extends its most sincere gratitude to all members, volunteers and partners who have helped make this milestone possible.
The Public Utility Status, granted for a period of 10 years, represents both recognition of the work accomplished and an increased responsibility for the future. ARM will continue to carry out its activities with the same professionalism, dedication and commitment that have guided the Association since its foundation, reinforcing its mission to promote and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of Mação and to foster the sustainable development of the municipality.
The Board would also like to express its special appreciation to the Municipality of Mação, the Parish Councils of the Municipality, the Médio Tejo Intermunicipal Community, the Mação Volunteer Fire Brigade Association, the National Republican Guard (GNR), the Polytechnic University of Tomar, the Verde Horizonte School Group, the associations of the Municipality of Mação, and all other organisations that have supported and collaborated with the Association throughout this journey.
This distinction belongs to everyone.
