Pracana's dam is located in the municipalities of Mação, district of Santarém, and Vila Velha de Ródão, district of Castelo Branco, Portugal. It is a concrete dam with buttresses.
The hydroelectric power station is made up of three Francis groups with a total installed capacity of 40 (41)[1] MW. The average energy produced per year is 61.8 (63.8) GWh.
