🌿💧 On the western slope of the Rio Frio, near the road to Penhascoso, the Belver Granite can be observed in an advanced state of weathering. Over thousands of years, the combined action of water, wind, and temperature changes has gradually broken down the rock, transforming it into coarse sand through a process known as granitic weathering. This phenomenon occurs as water infiltrates the granite's fractures and discontinuities, accelerating its natural decomposition. 🌧️🪨
